Like most children, I hated bedtime when I was younger. I was never able to fall asleep easily, and my habit of reading in the dark quickly took a toll on my eyesight. So while still in elementary school, I started making up my own stories in my head while I waited for sleep to arrive. That's where my passion for story-telling began.

Over the years, I learned there were plenty of stories to tell and plenty of ways to tell them. In high school, I combined my passion for writing and story-telling with my passion for sports when I started a Red Sox blog on MLBlogs.com. It was the first step toward a professional writing career.

Nearly 10 years later, I am a trained journalist with experience in web production and editing. I currently work for FoxSports.com. I have worked for numerous outlets in the past, including New England Hockey Journal, Along the Boards, New England Lacrosse Journal, US Lacrosse Magazine and Inside Hockey.

I am not afraid to try something new or take a chance on a risky venture. I worked for a year as a web producer for a start-up sports media company, She's Game Sports, which strives to provide unique content for the female fan. While at She's Game, I helped design the website, formulated social media plans, managed a team of writers and columnists, edited all copy on the website and produced written content of my own.

I graduated magna cum laude from Boston University in 2012 with a Bachelors of Science in print journalism. As a student, I worked for BU's student newspaper, The Daily Free Press, as a men's hockey beat writer and associate sports editor. I helped create and manage a blog for the newspaper called The Boston Hockey Blog, which covers everything from recruiting to games to alumni success in the NHL. The blog now has over 2,000 followers on Twitter alone.

The current world is much different than the one in which I first started telling stories. The idea of a blog or Twitter was a completely alien concept back then. But while the medium for story-telling has changed over the year, my passion for it continues to grow. I am excited to see where it leads.
